I'm may be in a minority here but I would rather my working day was longer. I wish there were more hours in the day to do the work and others things I have to do. There are lots of things I wish for. I wish people weren't so stupid or rude or demanding or ignorant. But that's almost as absurd as wanting to work longer hours. Recently I have seen two cool things on O' Connell street. On the Liffey end one of the Pharmacists has a familiar red dot-matrix scrolling display advertising Kodak one hour photo developing but after the ad has scrolled a much longer message appears which is a dump of all the settings of the device including lots of familiar variables and things. It is reassuring to see familiarity in unfamiliar places. If you can understand technology and it's applications in one instance it's refreshing to know that it is possible to understand unknown applications also. On an almost unrelated note, I must say that the Irish Architecture website is marvellous, I have linked to it many times in the past and I never fail to find it interesting and informative. Architecture and our general surrounds have always been of interest to me. The other thing was an ATM in a window further up which had sitting on top of it, visible through the glass, some network equipment including a Cisco 1700. Well I thought it was cool. I need to get a pair of sunglasses now that the day star is making a daily appearance. I have really been looking for years but now I realise that if I want nice looking safe glasses I've got to pay quite a bit. I suppose I should start looking at some online stores. Right now, with my term slowly coming to an end I feel really comfortable in work and with my peers particularly my superiors, or rather those I work under. I can chat and get on with them as if they were anyone which is of course how it should be but it took me quite a while to get to that strange and I suppose the temperament of my bosses has a lot to do with that also. In other news, I have a crush. |
